Well, there’s never a dull moment at Word of Mouth TV. So much so, that we have turned our eyes heavenward recently, wondering if the Gods are, indeed, toying with us.

We had only just finished filming seven amazing dinners with authors, most of the footage of which still needed to be edited, when our producer was offered a job just too good to resist. This was a potential disaster.

Not only would our lovely Claire will be leaving us, which is sad (we loved the idea of three women creating their own production, and it is rare to find a woman behind the camera), but who would edit the remaining footage?

Fortunately, in another twist of fate, the Gods introduced us to some other great industry professionals, and we would like to welcome French videographer Adrien Seignoux to the Word of Mouth TV team.

We have rolled back our author-interview schedule by a month but we will continue to put up lots of interesting author Sound Bites, including some interviews from the Perth Writers’ Festival.

It is actually great to have the opportunity to use the Perth footage. There are so many great Australian authors, and the writers festivals are a great way to get acquainted with as many as possible. We’ve already posted a great interview with Stella Prize winner Heather Rose; and debut author Louise Allan.

We will also post the second round of Sydney Writers’ Festival interviews within the fortnight.

As a special treat for avid fantasy fans, we have an interview coming up with fantasy master Raymond E. Feist. As fantasy writers, both Kate and I were so excited to have him on the show. He was a top-billing drawcard at Supanova 2018 on the weekend, and is touring Australia after publishing his first new fantasy series in 30 years – The Firemane Saga (King of Ashes is the first book in a likely trilogy). So it appears the fates have favoured us yet again.

All this and more, including great recipes and iconic literary moments, will be coming to Word of Mouth TV screens over the next few weeks. We wish Claire all the best and will be rolling up our sleeves now to bring our dinner interviews with authors to the screen. See you soon!
